Magnet Applications will open October 1, 2020. The Deadline to submit an on-time application is December 4, 2020.

Read the information below to begin an application for the 2021-2022 school year.

What can you do to be prepared to submit a completed application? 

  1. Check your child’s Infinite Campus account to secure your child’s student number. You will enter the student number without the zero.
  2. Secure email addresses for two teachers that will complete the recommendation forms.
  3. Read the School Choice Guide in its entirety.
  4. Know and understand the eligibility criteria for your selected school choices.
  5. If you reside in Clayton County but do not attend a school under the jurisdiction of Clayton County Public Schools, you will be required to submit residency documentation, standardized assessment results and student transcripts. Please begin to secure those documents now.
 
Please Note: The application portal will only allow those students who are current Pre-Kindergarten through 9th Grade students to apply.
Parents wishing to enroll their children as a Pre-Kindergarten student for 2021-2022, should not submit an application at this time. Please visit the Pre-Kindergarten website for more information.
Lottery Selection Process
Student placement is limited per program, grade level, and school. All eligible students must adhere to contractual understandings; however, enrollment is not guaranteed for any applicant. Post Lottery
·      Students who are selected in the school choice lottery will receive notification from the district via e-mail by April 1, 2021.
·      Students who are not selected in the school choice lottery will receive notification from the district via e-mail on or about April 1, 2021.
·      If a student is not selected to attend a school choice program prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year, a new application may be submitted for the 2022-2023 school year.

                                             Purpose:                                             Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) recognizes the desire of parents and students to make informed decisions by choosing the most appropriate learning paths within public school education. CCPS offers various magnet programs for students enrolled in public schools. The programs are central to our four academic priorities:  (1) literacy the across curriculum, (2) numeracy across the curriculum, (3) integration of technology, and (4) critical thinking through various pathways such as Academics, World Languages, Performing and Visual Arts, and Career, Technical and Agricultural Education.


Magnet Programs: Parents with students entering Pre-Kindergarten through grade 10 will have an opportunity to choose from an array of theme-based curricula offerings at elementary, middle, and high school levels that provide innovative and rigorous academic instruction by specially trained teachers. These magnet programs engage students and provide them with a pathway to post-secondary education and career options.
